The Radiator Collective is a group who believes that community is stronger than individualism, but idea that applies not only to the art world but the larger community around us. It’s with this idea in mind that we turn our attention to the housing crisis that is on-going within Prince Edward County.

We are asking people who believe the housing is a human right come together and to support not only the plan to re-develop Queen Elizabeth School into the current proposal for affordable housing with an on site community hub, but to let elected officials know that there is wide spread support for the creation of subsidized and affordable housing across Prince Edward County.

One of the easiest ways you can do this is by writing a short email to County Council expressing your support. If you’re not sure what to say, we’ve added a quick template below to use as a jumping off point for your own email:

Dear (Councillor’s Name)

I am writing to you to today as a resident of (your ward/town) to express my full support for the proposed housing development at 35 Barker St (formerly Queen Elizabeth School).

This project is just one of many that we need to help create safe, affordable living spaces for everyone who calls The County home and I would like to see more of these projects in the immediate years to come.

Housing is a human right and we have a duty of care to work together to make sure everyone is able to not only live, but thrive in our vibrant community.
