Cuts and Scrapes; A solo exhibit by Alex Currie

Saturday, February 8th, 2025

Alex Currie’s first solo show “Cuts and Scrapes” will be hanging at Proudest Pony starting February 8. The night will also mark the cassette release of his debut EP “River John” with a live performance of the material.

From the artist:

“Alex Currie is a multi-hyphenate artist and community organizer who has been creating and presenting art for himself and others for as long as memory serves.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Alex relocated to a small town in Ontario and took a break in personal expression while exploring other pursuits. In 2020 he picked his tools back up and began expressing himself from a place of extreme hurt, betrayal and fear. This led to Alex reconnecting to art as a way to navigate his journey through life in a way he’s elated to remember is so important.

Primarily working in the art of collage, “Cuts and Scrapes” is the culmination of 5 years of rediscovery and experimentation. Combining cut paper, digital design, print making and a life long compulsion to share.”
