The idea for Void Fest came about from wanting to celebrate our town, Picton Ontario, along with the people creating and living in it. To give people who may not have the luxury of being a full time working artist or musician the time and attention to grow and learn in a safe environment. The idea of having 15 acts perform over 12 venues in one day in December might have seemed lofty, but we thought why not just do it for the sake of doing it. Pushing the envelope and offering an eclectic mix of emerging and veteran performers a platform to present their work in a live setting is an honour.
Plus how awesome is it to see your friends old and new celebrate and try it out together?

VOIDfest draws its inspiration from long standing music festivals like Sappyfest in Sackville, New Brunswick, Sled Island in Calgary and the now defunct Obey Convention from Halifax; we hope to see it grow a bit more each year becoming a destination event for bands touring our country.

VOIDfest is, at its core, a culmination of the ideas and collaborative spirit the Radiator Collective aims to bring to our community. The 2024 Festival drew in so many folks from our amazingly supportive community and gave back that energy tenfold.

We could not have done this without the support of the businesses, musicians and people who spent the day touring Picton with us.
